I started The Boman Group earlier this year so I could help managers do their jobs more effectively. I love to run a tight ship, and I love to grow and nurture employees. I realized pretty early on in my career that not everyone who had been promoted to a management spot was gifted with natural managerial skills. They either didn't have a strong grasp on how to operate a business or they didn't enjoy being the leader of their team. Working under those managers was excruciating, but it didn't have to be. Even if those skills don't come naturally to you, they CAN be learned.
That's what my business does - teach you managerial skills (if you need them), streamline your operations, help you get the best work out of your team, and coach you to meet the goals of both you AND your company. I provide consulting services but am also working towards certification as an executive coaching because I think coaching is the most effective way for an employee to learn the skills they need to be an effective executive, manager, and leader.
Eventually I'd like to move into some online and in-person courses (possibly even a podcast?), but for now, I hope this blog will be an entertaining place to learn about leadership and career topics. So let's do this thing!
